ABOUT US

Eeyou Mobile was founded in 2019 by the James Bay Eeyou Corporation, Eeyou Communications Network (ECN), and SSi Canada. Our mission is to deliver high- quality, attractive and affordable mobile services across the largest network in Eeyou Istchee and the James Bay region.

Our network is today the most extensive in the region, by far, and we are still growing. We are the only ones serving all 14 communities, the Billy Diamond Highway and other major routes and access roads. Combine that with seamless network coverage across Canada, and we can reach more people, places and opportunities.

Owned and operated by those who live in the region, Eeyou Mobile is more than just a mobile provider. We are built for you, designed for the North, and here to keep you connected—at home, on the road, and wherever life takes you.

Community Involvement

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Annual Golf Tournament organized by the Chisasibi Sports and Recreation Association. The event attracts hundreds of locals every year.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Whapmagoostui Tomahawks hockey team, which is part of the Whapmagoostui Sports and Recreation Association.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the James Bay Folifrets Festival, an annual snowmobile competition that has been taking place in Chibougamau for more than 50 years.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Chibougamau Arena, home of many sports teams including the midget BB hockey team Les Ambassadeurs de Chibougamau and the figure skating club Les Lames Givrées de Chibougamau.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Tournoi de hockey amateur in Chibougamau. This annual tournament attracts more than twenty teams and hundreds of fans coming from all corners of the Jamesian and Cree communities.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Festival du Doré Baie-James, the biggest walleye festival in the province. This 10-day festival attracts close to 1,000 anglers and thousands of visitors from Quebec and Ontario.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Chisasibi Pow Wow, an annual traditional pow wow where the entire community comes together to celebrate life through drumming, dancing, and singing.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Waswanipi Lightning softball team, which is part of the Waswanipi Leisure & Sports Service. Waswanipi Leisure & Sports Service is home to many sports teams, including hockey, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse.

Eeyou Mobile supports the Ouje-Bougoumou Walleye Fishing Derby, an annual event in which participants compete to catch the largest walleye fish possible. Prizes range up to $20,000 and are held in Chapais on Opemiska Lake.

Eeyou Mobile sponsors the Go à Vélo Chibougamau team participating in the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie. The goal of the Grand défi is to create a culture of preventive health in Quebec by encouraging people to adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

Eeyou Mobile supports the Whapmagoostui February Dry Month, a community-led initiative observed throughout the month of February. During this period, community members collectively engage in a ‘dry’ commitment, refraining from alcohol and drugs.
